I know I owe you all a blog update and I even promised to write one tonight, but this short little blurb will have to suffice for now. It has gotten too late to write a post about my first week in clinic and do it justice. I will try my best to get around to it tomorrow. Instead blog posting, I wasted most of my night researching which board review book I should purchase and deciding which translation of Les Miserables I want to read.
Now that I have time to read stuff other than textbooks, I am developing a list of books to read. Kind of like a Netflix queue, but better! This is what I have so far...
currently reading
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen
-I finally saw the movie this past week. It reminded me how much I loved the book, so I am going back for a re-read.
What the Dog Saw and Other Adventures by Malcolm Gladwell
-It is a collection of articles/essays originally written for the New Yorker that are really interesting insights on a wide variety of topics from mustard to birth control to dog training to hair dye to homelessness. Some of them really get you thinking.
to be read in the near future
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
-I originally read this in high school. After seeing the musical this weekend, I have been inspired to re-read the book.
The Help by Kathryn Sockett
-On two separate and completely unrelated occasions, two different groups of friends mentioned just finishing this book and really liking it. And the movie is coming out soon, which means I better get reading. I believe you ALWAYS should read the book before seeing the movie.
So if you just finished something good or have a suggestion as to what you think I should tackle next, I am always up for suggestions.
And if your undies are all in a bunch about not knowing what I am doing in clinic and how my patients are doing (yes, as in real people that are trusting me to take care of their teeth), please refer to facebook. I have been able to upload a few quick photos from our bridging ceremony today and a shot of my new business cards (fancy!). Eventually, those photos will make their way to this blog.
What?? A teaser post. I see you're still a procrastinator! Gotta love you Dana!
