yeah...that's my life

So I know the updates have been a little few and far between lately.  It's mostly because I haven't really been up to much other than running the rats in the lab everyday.  Sadly, my life right now can be summed up in this excerpt from a phone call I had yesterday with my cousin.

Michael: "So what are you up to today?"
Me: "I am just about to go feed the rats.  Usually they can't make it through the weekend without an extra feeding."
Michael: "Is that code for you are going to see your boyfriend and hang out?"
Me: "Nope.  I literally am going to feed some rats.  My life is that sad and pathetic."

That being said, I have probably spent equal time this week in both rodent and human company, so you don't have to worry about me turning into one of those crazies that lives alone with an overpopulation of strange pets.  On Saturday, my friend Inna (from Illinois, who now goes to med school here!) invited me and some of her other friends over for dinner.  She cooked some really tasty salmon (which I normally don't even like) and we played Taboo and watched a cheesy 80s movie.  I had a great time.  On Sunday, I met with some classmates to work on the new mentoring program that the SGA is implementing.  Then, I went to the mall with my friend Vicki to help her pick out some clothes to wear on her trip to Vegas this weekend.  If I were not going to California for a wedding this weekend, I would have totally gone with to Vegas.  I have always wanted to go.  However, I am super super excited about this trip to LA because I get to spend it with some of my closest friends.

Then, Lauren is coming to visit!  Wahoo!  Despite it being crazy hot out, I hope to find lots of fun things to do.

And, because a blog post that is media free is boring, here are some rat videos to keep you occupied.  Obviously, my rats are turning into escape artists and have figured out how to climb out of the treadmill.
