cool stuffs

I wasted a lot of time this morning perusing the internet.  Apparently, there a quite a friends of mine out there that have blogs.  Who knew?  Of course, said friends are much craftier, more artsy, and generally funnier than I am, so reading their blogs was quite a treat.  Anyway, after spending a considerable amount of time on their blogs, I began to get inspired to post a little something something to my own.  I think I was challenged to be more crafty, artsy, or funny...so here is my attempt to do just that.

CRAFTY
Well, a few posts ago I showed pictures of the Easter wreath I made.  Of course, I can't take credit for thinking it up all my own.  I was a little inspired by a fellow blogger (whose blog I discovered using stumbleupon, another fantastic website for wasting time).  Her blog chronicles making projects of adorable crafty things.  Anyway, if you are inspired to make a wreath for next year, here is a link to the blog for a little how-to.  Next up, I plan on trying to make some new types of jewelry.  I learned how to make some simple beaded bracelets awhile back, and I am looking to branch out.
Some of the first bracelets I made.
I am thinking that next up I will try to incorporate some crocheting (my roommate taught me how) with the beads to make a necklace a la this blog link.  Or I may go for a simple braided bracelet option from this blog link.  Either way, I will have some awesome new stuffs to wear.

ARTSY
Living in Phoenix, aka the city without a personality, makes me miss Chicago that much more sometime.  It would be fun to get my hands on this screen print to remind me that my "hometown" is much cooler than my current digs.
You can buy it from this site for only $35!  I think it would make a wonderful addition to my developing collection of Chicago-themed art that currently includes a map from the L and a "Pubs of Evanston" print.  So if you need an idea for a Christmas present...

FUNNY
I try to share things that I find funny or amusing on this blog whenever I can.  Any feedback on this?  Sometimes I feel like I have such a strange sense of humor that no one else will find it funny.  Nevertheless, I am sharing the following items that made me chuckle.
Ol' Georgie Washington looks pretty good as Lady Gaga, don't you think?
Thanks again to stumbleupon, I came across the aptly named website "Basset Hounds Running", which is a very good idea for a website.  I definitely LOLed at these little guys.

Finally, there are these music-related funnies, which are not that funny if you miss the cultural reference (much like my roommate did).  Hopefully you are cooler than her and get it.
