another change in protocol
Recently, the clinic has been a major hotbed of rumors and drama. A few weeks ago, the administration announced that they were thinking about splitting up all the paired students and shuffling us all around. Rather than being paired with a student at the same education level (D3 with D3, D4 with D4), each new pair was going to be made up of a D3 and a D4. They are hoping that this will help with the "continuing patient care" aspect of the accreditation process by CODA. A fair amount of students (myself included) think that this is a terrible idea; but yesterday it was unofficially "officially" announced that the decision had been made. Effective August 29, I will no longer be Mindi's "clinic wife" and partner. It makes me really sad because the two of us had been working really, really well together. (We can pretty much know exactly what the other one is thinking at all times. This comes in super handy when I need to do something and turn around to find it already done. She has been pretty awesome.) Even more shocking is that we do not get to chose our new partners, they are assigned to us. Today, the new partners were announced. My new partner is a D4 named Tom. I've heard only good things, so I'm hoping for the best this coming year.
