Happy birthday to Arizona! Today was the state of Arizona's 100th birthday. It was admitted to the union on February 14, 1912 as the 48th state (the last one in the contingent United States). Let's take a moment to celebrate the reasons we LOVE Arizona (and blatantly ignore the reasons we hate it). It is the 6th largest state (by land area) and the 16th most populous. The largest city is Phoenix, followed by Tucson, Mesa, Chandler, and Glendale (where I live)! It is against the law to refuse a person a glass of water in Arizona. The state flower is the saguaro cactus blossom, the state tree is the palo verde tree, the state amphibian is the Arizona tree frog, and the official neckwear is the bolo tie. Happy birthday AZ!
Happy birthday Petey! My favorite westie would have been 17 today. We sure miss him!
Oh yeah, and my birthday was last week. I had a pretty awesome birthday weekend. Saturday, I went to the mall to find a new outfit to wear to my birthday party. I spent way too much money (despite using all my coupons) and came home with several outfits. (I do have buyer's remorse. I may be returning this dress, which is now on sale...of course. What do you think?) Mindi organized a dinner at Upper Crust Pizza with 17 of my closest friends. She went all out with decorations on the tables, balloons on my chair, and a birthday cake with lots of candles. The food was really good and the company was awesome. Turning 27 wasn't so bad after all. On Sunday, the actual birthday day, I attended a Super Bowl party and watched the big game with lots of snacks and even more friends. It was definitely the best birthday I've had since starting dental school.
