When we left off, my sister graciously wrote a guest blog post about her Arizona adventure. We had a great time the rest of the week, spending more time by the pool and going to an Arizona Diamondbacks game. The roof at Chase Field was closed that day, because of rain (oddly enough) and not the normal heat. I've never watched a baseball game inside before.
The day after I dropped Lauren off at the airport, I attended the wedding of one of my classmates. It was a really fun wedding because there were so many dental students there. We had a grand ol' time dancing the night away.
The I had a week with some pesky finals.
Then I went to Vegas (Vegas!) for a bachelorette party. It was a pretty wild time. (Wild by my standards. I'm pretty "boring" and I'm getting old. Staying out until 4 AM one morning and then 2 AM the next is NOT as easy as it used to be. Not that it was ever easy or that I did it very often...) Anyway, we spent some time by the pool, where we saw some interesting characters.
We also walked along the strip, watched the Bellagio fountains (one of my FAVORITE things to do in Vegas), ate until our heart's content (Serendipity 3 and their frozen hot chocolate at Caesar's Palace? To die for...), and went and saw Thunder from Down Under. Yes, men in thongs. It was great fun. And according to the bachelorette, "they smelled nice". At night, we partied at The Bank in the Bellagio and Tao at the Venetian. I'm not the biggest fan of the nightclub scene, but it was fun dancing the night away. Or at least it was fun until I got peed on. Yup, I'm just standing there minding my own business when I feel something on my leg. I look around to see who spilled their drink, to be shocked to see a guy peeing into the corner. It was hitting the ground and rebounding onto my bare leg. It was gross, to say the least. I'm pretty sure I let out a girly squeal, shot the guy the dirtiest look I could muster, and then left. (We probably should have told the bouncer, but we were all too shocked at what happened. This was a pretty posh place!)
I finally made it home for my summer break the last week of May. I LOVE being in IL this time of year. I got a break from the heat and was able to see green things like grass and trees. It was nice to see lots of family at a Memorial Day cook out. I met up with some good friends. I had dinner with Amanda and went to a Cubs game with Allison.
And as if one baseball game weren't enough, I also made my mom and dad take me to Miller Park to see the Brewers play. Before the game, I got a chance to "ride" a real Harley and learn how to shift a real bike. My dad was very excited and documented it thoroughly.
Since Lauren couldn't go to the game with us, we took advantage of the "make your own sign" station to make a sign for her. We took lots of pictures at the park and texted her periodically throughout the night.

I also found time to get a good bike ride in by the lake. I always miss seeing the water. This was one of my favorite pictures from that day.
Since then I've been back in AZ doing the whole dental school thing. The past two weeks I was on rotation at a pediatric clinic in central Phoenix. However, that will be a story for another time.
