interesting fact of the day

I am studying for my anesthesia midterm that begins in about 9 hours.

According to the book, the US Air Force and US Navy ground airplane pilots for 24 hours after the receipt of a local anesthetic.  This is because lidocaine (the most common local anesthetic used in dentistry) can produce a mild sedation or drowsiness.

Go figure.
