This weekend was a pretty good weekend.
On Saturday, I went to see a friend of mine perform in a show called "American Icons Live" with a group of people from the gym. It was an impersonation show in which people dressed up, lip synched, and danced in the styles of different celebrities. My friend performed as Lady Gaga and was amazing.
The other act I really enjoyed was the Michael Jackson impersonator. His impersonation was spot on. During intermission, I took a picture with MJ. I figured it was an opportunity too good to pass up since I had on a sequined top that matched his sequined jacket. When I pointed this out, he let me wear the sparkly glove for the photo op.
And then today I had one of the best Sundays in a long time. I got up early (8:30 AM!) to go get a massage with Allie. The massage school here is getting really popular and so during the 2 for 1 weekends ($25 for 2, 1-hour long massages!) the wait can get to be pretty long. When we got there this morning, the wait was already 2-3 hours. We put our names in and went to breakfast at the Good Egg, which is one of my favorite breakfast places. (And as an bonus, the cashier gave me extra stamps and filled up both of my "best things in life" cards, meaning I now have 2 free breakfasts!) After food, we still had some time to kill, so we walked around a mall near the massage school. Inside there was a store front run by the Arizona ASPCA, so we spent some time looking at all the adoptable puppies. We finally went back for our massages and all was good. When I got home, I went out to the pool. It was too hot out, though and I was only able to last about an hour. The pool water was even too hot. Despite my SPF 45 sunscreen and short time in the sun, I still managed to get a little pink. And then I took a nap. And then I went to the grocery store. Now I am sitting in my living room watching the monsoons sweep through. The wind is blowing like crazy making the trees bend over and the carports rattle. It is pouring rain with tons of lightning. If I didn't know any better, I would think I am in the middle of a hurricane.
I don't want Monday to come.
