thankful

So this afternoon, I had the idea that for the month of November leading up to Thanksgiving that I will write down something I am thankful for every day.  The past few days in the clinic have been a little rough, and so I am hoping that focusing on the better things in life will put the little set-backs into perspective.  So here goes...

I am thankful that my crown prep this morning went better than I could have imagined.  My impression was so good that I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of it.  You could show that impression in a textbook, it was so good.  I'm glad that these procedure went so smoothly.  I needed a little bit of a confidence boost and reminder that I can do dentistry and that I did pick the right profession after all (because I was beginning to have doubts).

I am thankful that we have a break coming up.  I'm excited that I get to go somewhere new for a few days (Utah, here I come).  I'm glad I get to spend significant time at home with my family.

I'm thankful that I have a loyal froyo buddy.  Whenever Allie or I have a bad day in clinic, all we need to do is send the other person a text, asking to go get frozen yogurt.  After we fill our cups with creamy goodness, it is open season for complaining about clinic.  There is an unspoken rule that whatever we say to each other won't ever get repeated.  Even if one person does more complaining than the other, we don't mind because we know there is a day in the (near) future in which the favor will be returned in kind.  Froyo sessions are essential to maintaining one's sanity, and a cup of froyo really does make everything feel better.

I am thankful that clinic doesn't start until 1 PM tomorrow.  That means I have time to sleep in AND go out to breakfast at the Good Egg.

Also, I hope to have a Halloween recap post sometime soon.  I saw some really creative costumes and had a great time at the 3 Halloween parties I attended.  Don't y'all feel like reading about that?
